DESCRIPTION:Party planners unite.  Come help the Fellowship Committee get things set for the upcoming party\, which will include special entertainment from Mark Alan Wade\, who is a National Dulcimer Champion. \nMark performs in orchestra halls and music festivals with a style that mixes classical precision and raw\, traditional\nAmerican. Classically trained as a trumpeter with master’s and doctorate degrees in music from The Ohio State University\, his unique style emerged as the technique and discipline of his formal training.  His performances bring world music to life and revitalize familiar classical pieces on hammered dulcimer. \nSome of his recent accomplishments include: \n\n2013—Featured performer at the World\nCymbalom Congress in Taipei\, Taiwan\n2014—Trumpeter with an orchestra that  played on the very stages where\nBeethoven and Haydn performed near Vienna\, Austria.\nRecently he premiered his Irish hymn suite for hammered dulcimer and orchestra\,  Streams of Mercy with the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra and\, Good King Wenny with the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra.\nHe also is a founding member of the wildly successful QuaranTUNE Dulcimer Festival.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:World Communion Sunday is the first Sunday in October. The day celebrates our oneness in Christ with all our brothers and sisters around the world. \nCelebration of World Wide Communion Sunday was adopted as a denominational practice in the Presbyterian Church (US) in 1936.  Churches in other denominations were invited to join the celebration when it started\, but it wasn’t until 1940 when the Department of Evangelism of the Federal Council of Churches (a predecessor of the National Council of Churches) promoted extending the celebration to a number of churches around the world that the practice became widespread.  Today\, World Communion Sunday is celebrated around the world. \n \n  \n  \n  \nJoin us as we celebrate during our 10:30 a.m.\, worship service.

Exchange St.\, with at least ten Akron-Area congregations\, and members of the Cameroonian Presbyterian Church.  Here’s your chance to fellowship with believers\, and make new connections with someone who may live across town  or across an ocean from you. \nA mass choir is being  formed for this celebration.  Singers and musicians from the different churches are lending their voices to this worship experience.  They will assist in leading the worship. Some members of the Cameroonian Presbyterian Church will also participate in the service. \nBe sure to mark your calendars now\, and watch for more information about a worship service. DESCRIPTION:We’ll enjoy a night of friends\, food and fellowship. \nFound Sounds featuring Matt Dudack and his sound will provide the entertainment. Matt is the Artistic Director for The University Of Akron’s Steel Drum Band​. His arrangements and original compositions have been featured both in performance and on the band’s recordings. Part of his duties at the University of Akron include teaching an arranging class for steel drums and private lessons. \nIn 2002\, Matt traveled to Trinidad to get a first-hand look at the home of pan\, and was able to perform during Panorama with the Invaders Steelband. In 2010\, Matt travelled again to Trinidad and Tobago\,  as executive director for “Hammer on Steel\,” a DVD and PBS broadcast which was nominated for 8 Emmy awards. \n
